One person has been injured following a cash-in-transit heist at Skippersnek, near Vryheid.

National police spokesperson, Vishnu Naidu says the vehicle was en route to Newcastle when it came under attack at around 7pm yesterday.
"They fired shots at the vehicle - forcing it to come to a standstill. It is reported that a crew was wounded. At this stage, it is unknown how much money was taken. Money was found scattered around the vehicle. This might be as a result of the explosives used to open the vehicle," Naidu said.
Naidu says police have activated their 72-hour activation plan.
"The 72-hour activation plan entails the mobilisation of critical resources including members from crime intelligence, forensic experts, the Hawks and seasoned detectives as well as members from our tactical unit ," Naidu said.
