Nzimande visits PMB college to assess state of readiness

Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande is in KZN today to assess the state of readiness of a Pietermaritzburg college – before students make their way back under lockdown Level 3.

Tertiary institutions have taken a phased approach to the reopening of campuses and varsities.
Nzimande's going to the Umgungundlovu TVET College, Plessislaer Campus.
"Colleges are ones of the institutions which begin receiving students and employees back to campuses," says the Minister's spokesperson, Ishmael Mnisi.

Mnisi adds: "Beyond receiving students and staff back to campus, colleges continue to play a central role in the production of COVID-19 necessaries such as masks and sanitisers.
"Minister Nzimade will be joined by Higher Health amongst others who will be demonstrating how the health check mobile device works."
