Nzimande to report on state of security at UniZulu

Higher Education Minister Dr Blade Nzimande is expected to report back on discussions with University of Zululand management on Monday.
Students on the KwaDlengezwa campus protested over security concerns at the varsity last week.
This after Msawenkosi Nxumalo, 23, was shot during an armed robbery at an off-campus residence. Nxumalo sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach just over a week ago, he remains in hospital.

He feels there is not enough security for students once they walk out the campus gates.
"I think the major challenge is that most student accommodations that are outside campus are not registered with the university. One of the solutions would be that these flats or rooms where students live should be known to the university, maybe then some sort of security arrangement can be made, so that if something happens security will be there, then we won't be an easy target anymore," he said.
