Authorities say one of the suspects had been wanted in connection with 12 murders committed just in the last two months.
Ward 45 Committee member Mandla Ncgobo says the community is still in shock.
"Even now, everybody is still standing on the road, trying to recall their memory of what happened yesterday. This morning, I went to check those people which I left there to check how they how they are feeling.
"They managed to sleep last night after that shooting, but they said they are not okay. They still have that trauma, and it will be a good idea if we can get social workers who can give them counselling about what happened yesterday."
