NPA to decide on 2nd docket after Meyiwa trial conclusion
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The National Prosecuting Authority says the decision to prosecute those implicated in the second docket will only be made once the current murder trial of late Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa is finalised.

In a response letter to the defence lawyer Advocate Malesela Teffo, the NPA says the contents of the second docket will be guided by evidence unearthed in the current case before the court.
"In light of the fact that the decision in Vosloorus CAS 375 depends on the credibility findings by the trial court in the current trial involving CAS 636, I have therefore decided that the decision in CAS 375 will be made at the conclusion of the current trial,” the statement read.

In July, Teffo wrote to the NPA boss Shamila Batohi requesting the NPA to drop charges against the accused men and challenging the jurisdiction of the trial being heard in Pretoria instead of Johannesburg.
Muzi Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Mncube, Mthokozisi Maphisa, and Fisokuhle Ntuli are accused of killing the goalkeeper.
Meyiwa was shot and killed in October 2014 at Vosloorus, the home of his then-girlfriend singer Kelly Khumalo.
The trial will resume in September with accused number one, a forensic detective, in the witness box.
