NPA seizes assets worth R75 million in Saps 'blue lights' case

The assets of SAPS officials who allegedly colluded with a service provider linked to the controversial R191 million 'Blue lights' case have been seized.
They include former acting police commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane, among them.
The NPA says the assets include 19 immovable properties and 115 vehicles.
The criminal case involves a contract that the SAPS irregularly awarded to Instrumentation for Traffic Law Enforcement (Pty) Ltd, for the supply and fitment of blue lights and sirens to Gauteng SAPS vehicles.

The sole director of the entity is Vimpie Phineas Tlalefang Manthata.
The NPA says investigations revealed that Manthata and some police officials were in constant communication during the procurement and payment process.
The case is expected back in court on 02 November 2022.
