NPA seeks extension in Zuma application for stay of prosecution
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The National Prosecuting Authority has requested an extension to finalise the State’s opposing papers in the corruption case against former president, Jacob Zuma.

This after Zuma's attorneys filed for a permanent stay of prosecution, which if granted, will see his prosecution permanently set aside.
Zuma is facing one count of racketeering, two counts of corruption, one count of money laundering, and 12 counts of fraud related to payments he received in connection with the arms deal.
The NPA's Natasha Kara says the state missed the deadline on Friday due to the large submission of papers by Zuma’s legal team.
