NPA 'fully confident' in team working on Gupta extradition
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The National Prosecution Authority says it's confident that efforts by its team of prosecutors to extradite the Gupta brothers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will pay off.

The NPA’s made requests for provisional arrest warrants for Atul and Rajesh Gupta, who were detained in Dubai in early June.
"We are working tirelessly to ensure that the extradition application is submitted to UAE in respect to the two Gupta brothers within 60 days in terms of the [document] signed between South Africa and the UAE," says NPA's Mthunzi Mhaga.

Mhaga's slammed criticism by some analysts over their handling of the extradition process, saying the matter is complex.
He says they are working on the legal aspects and closely with authorities in the UAE and Interpol.
"We have previously explained why we will not be commenting on the legal dimensions of this case at this early stage and this remains our position for important legal and case-specific reasons."
