North Coast crash: KZN Transport promises support for victims' families
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport says it will provide all the necessary support to the families of the seven people killed in a horror crash on the north coast at the weekend.
A five-year-old child was among those killed when a car and bakkie collided head-on - on the N2 near the Tugela bridge on Saturday.
The driver of the bakkie, who had been travelling alone, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Transport's Mluleki Mntungwa says investigation into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
"We are still gathering more details around the crash. Currently, officials are conducting an investigation into the crash and we will be able to establish what could have been the cause of the crash," he said.
Mtungwa say the department is working with the families of the deceased - to ensure they receive a dignified burial.
