7 killed in North Coast crash
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
An investigation is under way into the exact cause of a crash on the north coast in which seven people lost their lives.

Two vehicles collided head-on along the N2 between Mandini and the Tugela bridge yesterday afternoon. IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says most of the victims, among them a five-year-old child, were declared dead at the scene.
He says one person survived the crash and was taken to hospital with injuries.
"Four males and three females passed away. One male of a Toyota bakkie survived with minor injuries", he said.
"It is believed the Etios involved was travelling from the Stanger area towards Empangeni while the bakkie was travelling from the Empangeni towards the Ballito area when the Etios driver lost control, veered across the road and crashed head-on with the bakkie", Herbst said.
An inquest docket has been opened for investigation.
