No water restrictions for areas supplied by Umgeni
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Umgeni Water says there's about five percent less water in the Umgeni system at the moment - when compared to the same period last year.
The utility says the system is sitting at about 74-percent capacity.
Spokesperson, Shami Harichunder says water restrictions become a reality for municipalities supplied by the system - when capacity dips below the 69-percent mark.
He says as things stand, Umgeni Water won't have to impose restrictions in the months ahead.
"It is dependent entirely on demand and conservation consumption. These have to be managed carefully like we have done previously with the Umgeni system. We have to continue monitoring water demand and usage," he said.
