No salmonella outbreak in KZN: Health MEC
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
KZN Health MEC, Sibongiseni Dhlomo says there's no salmonella outbreak in KwaZulu-Natal.

"We wish to categorically state there is no outbreak of salmonella in
the province - just a particular restaurant affected. This matter has
to do with poorly prepared food in a particular space," Dhlomo said.
A number of salmonella food poisoning cases have been reported in Durban over the past week - with some people ending up in hospital.
Briefing reporters in Durban, Dhlomo said they were working with eThekwini Municipality to carry out inspections at restaurants to ensure there are no more cases.
"This issue of food safety and the inspection of places where food is prepared - is a municipality task. We would therefore like to advise that this area must be strengthened. We would also like to caution all food handlers to be cautious and adhere to the highest standards of hygiene when preparing food," he said.
