No new cases of listeriosis in Ladysmith: KZN Health
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
KZN Health is urging people across the province not to panic following a weekend media report on the listeriosis outbreak.
It had been suggested that products from a dairy farm and two shops in northern KwaZulu-Natal had tested positive for listeriosis.
The Health Department says it cannot comment on that information until it receives a report from communicable diseases experts tomorrow.
The Citizen newspaper reported that a dairy farm in Winterton and shops selling milk in Colenso and Bergville were affected. The Health Department's Agiza Hlongwane says there have been no new cases in Ladysmith since the year began.
"We are waiting for the situational analysis report on Wednesday. From there, we are going to see what they say. If there is a need for us to get clarity, we will do that," Hlongwane said.

The death toll from the outbreak stands at 183.
Most of the cases were reported in Gauteng, followed by the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, with 70 cases to date.
