‘No motive yet’ for killing of senior official in Ladysmith

Police in KZN are trying to establish the motive for the killing of a senior official at Alfred Duma Local Municipality.
Gunmen shot and killed Thulani Xaba and two others in Ladysmith on Monday,
Xaba was the head of Local Economic Development and Tourism in the municipality.
Provincial police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says three counts of murder are being investigated.
"Police were on patrol duties when they stumbled upon the body of a man lying next to the road with gunshot wounds. A vehicle was also found next to the body. Police received information that the vehicle had three occupants, and the subsequent search in the nearby bush led to a discovery of two bodies of men also with gunshot wounds."

"A possible motive of the killing has not been established as yet. Police are appealing to anyone who might have information which may assist in the investigations or the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the nearest police station or call the crime stop number.”
