Nine arrested in N3 Durban fuel protest
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The Road Traffic Inspectorate says traffic is starting to move on both sides of the roadway in the vicinity of Pietermaritzburg.
"It was blocked on the N3, at Church Street, which is both the South and the North bound carriageway near New England Road. They confirmed that the protest was about the petrol price hike," the RTI's Zinhle Mngomezulu said.
Mngomezulu adds eight men and one woman was arrested. She says a number of trucks and cars were switched off by protesters on the North and South bound lanes.
