Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A Durban mother is preparing to bury her seven-year-old son this Friday.
Kirsyde Louw was gunned down last Friday outside his Newlands East home.
He had been playing with his friends on Milarina Drive.
Police say he was rushed to hospital where he later died.
His mother Kaylene Louw says she doesn't understand why anyone would want to hurt him.

"I am at a loss for words, it's like someone must wake me up and tell me this was just a dream.
"Every morning I get up and it's so heart heartbreaking because he used to always wake me up and when his transport drives by and pick up his friends, I can just see him walking out and going into it. I have never ever imagined I would go through so much pain."
She says she was at work at the time and only saw messages on her phone later.
"I think I am still in denial about everything because it happened so quickly. One minute I am at home saying my goodbyes to him and going to work and then the next minute I am getting a call that they are in hospital and when I got there they said he is on life support."
A case of murder is being investigated.
