New principle at Grosvenor High following racism probe

The Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal says the new acting principal appointed at Grosvenor Girls' High will help put in place a financial system at the school.

Kathy Fredericks, the deputy principal at Durban Girls' High, took over the reins at the Bluff school this week.
Grosvenor's former acting principal was suspended last month in line with recommendations by an independent panel that uncovered racism and financial mismanagement at the school.

"We also equally are looking into the irregular appointment of SGB employees to rectify that situation," says KZN Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi.
"We are in talks with the South African Council for Educators so that they will assist with social cohesion programmes at the school."
