Grosvenor High acting principal suspended amid race row
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The
acting principal of Grosvenor Girls' High School has been suspended.

The Department of Education in KZN says it took the decision in line with the recommendations made by an independent panel that uncovered racism and financial mismanagement at the Bluff school.
One of them is that the deputy principal, who took on the role of acting principal, also be charged with misconduct relating to racism.
Angry parents protested outside the school in March, calling for action against racism and financial misconduct.
Earlier this month, the department said that racism had been normalised at the school and is systematic and structural.
Maladministration and nepotism, stemming from the principal and deputy, were also uncovered.
Meanwhile, the department says the new school term has started without a hitch.
However, there were some disruptions due to service delivery protests in the Uthukela and Zululand districts.
Schools in the province reopened for the start of the third term.

MEC Kwazi Mshengu appealed to communities to leave schools out of their service delivery demonstrations.
Spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa says some classrooms have been targeted.
"We are satisfied in terms of how the schools have opened, we are now entering into the third term of the academic year of 2022. There hasn't been a lot of glitches and our system will continue to monitor all districts across the province. We wish to also call upon parents to continue to support the learners as we now entering the third term."
