New Germany woman found unharmed following hijacking

A frantic search in the New Germany area, outside Pinetown, after a hijacking incident has ended with a paraplegic woman being found alive with minor injuries.
The woman and her husband - believed to be in his late 80s - were hijacked in Sander Road earlier.
The man was rushed to hospital after sustaining two gunshot wounds.

Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says officers are still on the ground trying to track down the suspects.
"A woman who is paralysed was hijacked together with her vehicle. They drove away with her vehicle. Moments later, she was found alive. She was in shock but there are no serious injuries. Her vehicle was also recovered," he says.
Zwane says police are investigating a case of attempted murder, hijacking and kidnapping.
