Nersa grants Eskom tariff increase
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The National Energy Regulator has granted Eskom's request for an electricity tariff increase.

But it's not the 45% percent the power utility was hoping for over three years.
The announcement was made earlier at a press conference in Pretoria.
"The approved allowable revenue will result in average percentage increases of 9,41%, 8,10% and 5,22% respectively for those three financial years," Jacob Modise said.
Modise says a number of factors had to be considered before arriving at the decision.

"In this regard, a thorough analysis of financial information submitted by Eskom was conducted. An economic impact assessment study was also conducted."
