Eskom calling business and residents to save power
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
Eskom is again urging residents and businesses to play their part in keeping the lights on.
This as the power utility works on measures to curb load-shedding. Eskom announced again yesterday that the risk of load-shedding over the weekend would remain high.
Chief operating officer Jan Oberholzer says they cannot say for sure if the lights will be turned off.
"The system is unpredictable. It is still unreliable so it is difficult to say for sure", he said.
"The request therefore is that all of us using electricity sparingly", Oberholzer said.
