N3 escape: All illegal immigrants re-arrested
KZN police have now re-arrested all the illegal immigrants who escaped from Home Affairs officials near Mooi River, earlier this week.
The group was being transported from Ladysmith to Pietermaritzburg for deportation - when they escaped on the N3 freeway.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says of the eight people who were being transported – five escaped.

He says four of the escapees were re-arrested within 24 hours. The fifth was nabbed on Friday night.
"All suspects or illegal immigrants that escaped from N3 area near Mooi River have been captured. A case of escaping has been opened by the Howick police for further investigation," he said.
