N2 strewn with rubbish in Durban business forums protest
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Authorities have managed to clear a pile of rubbish that was dumped on the N2 south of Durban during a protest earlier. The debris has been moved to the side of the road before the Joyner Road off-ramp.
This motorist was stuck on the route when protestors blocked the busy freeway this morning.
According to the Delangokubona Business forum, DSW has not paid its subcontractors for three months, which resulted in the protest.
At this stage, it is believed that 15 business forums are taking part in the protest.
The motorist says authorities made it to the scene moments ago.

"The [refuse collection] truck has left. There are police vehicles and the rubbish has been moved to the side. It's a huge pile of rubbish," the motorist said.
The municipality has not yet responded to a request for comment.
