MUT to receive R58-million in additional funding
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
Student funding scheme, NSFAS says it will make a further payment of R58-million to Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi, south of Durban.

This as student strikes over unpaid meal and book allowances, continue.
NSFAS made a payment of around R20-million in January, but MUT says this amount was not enough.
SRC president, Sandile Dlamini says they met with the scheme last week. Dlamini expects the payment to be made this week.
"They've committed to paying R54-million this week. So they have already made a deposit of R14-million. We are hoping that as from tomorrow they will be distributing the allowances. We will then wait for the final balance before we resume to academic activities," Dlamini said.
