"They have been left to sleep outside with their stuff and they are all over on the road. I have requested some shelter for them so that the rain doesn't get them. "
"This is a civil matter and as a councillor there is not much that I can do but the men have requested from me, to get the ladies and children into a hall or under a tent."
Mckenzie says she has been in touch with the owners of the building.
"When I spoke to one of the owners, they said that their intention is to put student accommodation there and it seems like they would have to plan for 2024 for the students coming in but they are also saying that the residents are owing money. So there is a whole lot of he said, she said."
“I'm presently just trying to get more information."
