Musa Mbhele appointed eThekwini city manager

Musa Mbhele is Durban's new city manager.

His appointment was announced at a Council meeting on Friday by Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda.
Mbhele has been acting in the position since last following the removal of corruption-accused Sipho Nzuza.
"According to the panel, Mr Mbhele demonstrated a high level of experience and knowledge of strategic leadership in the municipal environment."

"Mr Mbhele has a Social Science Degree, a Masters Degree in Town and Regional Planning, a Project Management Diploma and a B.Tech degree in Business Management.
"He has vast experience in local government and has been the municipal manager at Umzumbe Municipality."
Kaunda has commended the panel, saying they worked diligently during the selection process.
