Municipality names KwaDukuza traffic cop killed in crash

The KwaDukuza traffic cop who
was knocked down and killed on Tuesday has been named by the municipality.
"The KwaDukuza Municipality wishes to confirm the passing of one if its traffic officials, assistant superintendent Colin Sibusiso Zulu during a road block operation," says municipal spokesperson Sipho Mkhize Zulu.

Zulu says the crash happened just minutes after Zulu and his team had arrived on the R102 to check driver's licences and licence discs.
It's understood he was struck by a 51-year-old motorist who was driving into oncoming traffic.
He's been arrested and charged with culpable homicide.

Mkhize says the superintendent had been with the department since 1994.
"The municipal council wishes the Zulu family its sincerest condolences and desires his surviving children peace, comfort and courage during this time of sorrow.
"Assistant superintendent will be missed dearly by the KwaDukuza Municipality family."
