Multi-disciplinary operation in KwaDukuza targets illegal businesses

KwaDukuza's issued a warning to businesses caught operating without licenses.

Officials have carried out a blitz inspection with the KZN Liquor Authority and officials from Home Affairs, SARS and Economic Development.
The municipality's Sipho Mkhize says illegal foreign-owned shops and establishments selling unsafe goods - were among the main concerns.

He says they're tracking down the owners of buildings, where these unlicensed businesses have been operating from:
"There are now undocumented person's who are either running businesses or are occupying redundant facilities and we are urging all landlords to just come forward and disclose where they have issues so that we do not have a situation where someone has a redundant facility and it becomes a hub for crime."
