A Msunduzi ward councillor says it's going to take time for storm-affected communities there to get back on their feet.
Ward two councillor, Sibusiso Mtshali says their resources are stretched are they try to assist as many people as possible.
Heavy downpours caused the Msunudzi River to burst its banks on Saturday damaging around 56 homes and leaving hundreds with a roof over their heads.

Mtshali says thankfully, no lives were lost," It's bad because houses collapsed, people are without a shelter and some even lost their belongings. But fortunately, there was no life reported to have been lost."
He adds," So far we have only been able to visit or to attend to about 15 houses."
