MPs to vote on Mkhwebane's removal as Public Protector
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
It is D-day for
suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

The National Assembly is set to vote on whether or not to adopt the report by the Section 194 committee that looked into her fitness to hold office.
It found her guilty of misconduct and incompetence and recommended her removal from office.
A two-thirds majority will be needed to decide whether Mbkhwebane is impeached.

Last week, the speaker denied a request by the ATM and UDM for MPs to vote by secret ballot. Mkhwebane's term ends next month. However, political analyst Levy Ndou believes she has little chance of being allowed to see it through.
"My sense is that members of the DA are actually going to vote her out. I got a sense that the ANC members are going to do so and if only these two parties have got one position on the issue, it makes it easy for that matter to pass.
So, I therefore see Mkhwebane getting out of office."
