The opposition party now wants Parliament dissolved so early elections can be held

The move comes as a vote of no confidence in Zuma failed in the National Assembly.

MPs voted by secret ballot on Tuesday which saw 198 votes against the motion out of 384 votes.

Political analyst, Imraan Buccus says the DA must understand the mammoth task it's undertaking.

"It's clear that the ANC, by and large, will close ranks. The removal of Zuma at this point is going to mean a greater fragmentation in the party.

"The very fact that it might result in an early election means the ANC could go to an early election as a fractured party. There's absolutely no way that the attempt by the DA with the motion that they're proposing will succeed," he says.
