Mother of attacked schoolboy speaks out
Updated | By Zongile Mthimkhulu
The mother of a 12-year-old boy allegedly raped by three older boys in the toilets at a high school in Inanda, north of Durban says the attack almost lost her son his sanity.
The boy's mother attended yesterday's proceedings at the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court where the suspects - aged between 18 and 20 are applying for bail.
The hearing is expected to continue today.
The woman says she would not wish what happened to her son on her worst enemy.
''His mind would wander, and he wouldn't be able to sit still you know behaving like a three-year-old. I fed him like you do a child. You could see he just wasn't with us.
''At the social worker's office he would randomly take his pants off, his shoes. To me it seems my child is like a frog that was run over by a car, again and again,'' she said.
The boy is receiving counselling and has not yet returned to school.
