Mother and 1-year-old daughter killed in Shallcross roof collapse
A woman and her 1-year-old daughter have been killed after the roof of their home, near Shellcross collapsed in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services say the woman, believed to be about 27-years-old, and the baby were both declared dead at the scene.
It is still unclear what caused the roof to come crashing down.

"The house is understood be a formal dwelling with several bedrooms. The exact reason or cause of the roof collapse is still unknown at this stage," said Mckenzie.
Tragically a mother and her 1yr old daughter have sustained fatal injuries, after the roof of the house they were sleeping in collapsed on top of them. This occured in the early hours this morning in Shellcross.

He says medics were called to scene in the early hours of this morning, with rescue operations concluding at about 5am.
