UPDATE: Emergency services rescue man trapped in Bluff wall collapse

UPDATE: Durban emergency services have pulled a worker from the rubble after a two-and-a-half rescue operation in the Bluff. A group of men were working next to the wall when the structure on Beaumont Road caved in trapping the man underneath. He's been taken to hospital for treatment.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says a group of men were working next to the wall when the structure on Beaumont Road crumbled tothe ground - trapping one of them underneath. The worker's lower body was buried by the sand and rubble.
"One worker is severely entrapped underneath the rubble. Advance Life Support paramedics stabilised him while the Durban Fire Department are trying to get him freed.
"The second worker has also sustained minor injuries. However, he is being treated by paramedics as well. At this stage, events leading up to the incident are unknown. However, the SAPS is in attendance and will be investigating," Jamieson said.

The collapse comes nearly a month after three workers were killed in a structural collapse in Jacobs.
