Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A ward councillor says
the mother of a baby who was abducted
in the south of Durban over
the weekend is not coping.
Police say the two-month-old boy was taken by armed men who arrived at his Welbedacht home.
The baby was taken during what is believed to have been a home invasion.
"She is not alright,” says local ward councillor Sibusiso Mpanza.
“In the ward, people are shocked. It’s very sad because the baby is two months, and now we don't know what happened to the child if the baby is still alive. We are not sure."

Mpanza says he's spoken to the family, who've told him the two suspects asked for a teenage member of the family.
"They called the name of Lungelo, which is the son of the mother - a young woman who stays there, they said they want their alcohol. Lungelo, from that day he never go anywhere but what is worrying me, how did these two know Lungelo?”
Mpanza says the family has told him they don't know the abductors.
