More deaths at Glebelands Hostel

Durban police are investigating following the murders of two men at the notorious Glebelands hostel in Umlazi.

It's alleged the men, aged 29 and 41, were gunned down in the corridors of Block 50 last night.
This brings the number of murders at the hostel to three so far this year, and 117 since 2014.
The police's Thembeka Mbele says no arrests have been made as yet.
"The victims were attacked by an unknown suspect. They fired several gunshots towards them and they sustained several wounds.
Mbele says the motive for the killings is being investigation.
"Anyone who has witnessed the incident are being asked communicate with the police or alternatively to contact the Crime Stop on 08 600 10 111," Mbele said.

Meanwhile, the trial of eight men, known as the Glebelands eight will start in the Pietermaritzburg High Court this morning.
They're accused of carrying out a series of assassinations at the hostel.
