More calls for De Ruyter's head to roll over Eskom woes
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Young Nurses Indaba Trade Union has become the latest organisation to call for the head of Eskom CEO André de Ruyter.
The country has entered another week of load shedding, with stage 5 implemented until further notice.
"We also believe that urgently suitably qualified persons must be employed by Eskom and we get rid of this useless CEO and this has been a norm within Eskom because the like of previous CEOs have been shucked out when a slight level of incompetence showed its ugly head," says spokesperson Lerato Mthunzi.
"We are demanding the same with the current CEO without showing no fear, no favour."

The union says the rolling blackouts are severely impacting hospitals and lives, as life-saving equipment such as ventilators cannot operate.
Mthunzi says they are again calling for all hospitals and clinics to be exempt from load shedding.
"Patients are dying daily despite the announcement by the Minister of Health Joe Phaahla that 76 out of 230 hospitals would in the future be exempted from load shedding.
"It doesn't mean that is the current situation now, but also it doesn't necessarily mean that people's lives do not continue to be lost."
