Raylene Louw confirmed to the court during cross-examination that she went to visit Ebrahim in prison on 2 September last year, a day before Miguel's body was found.

Defence attorney Jay Naidoo then told the court that Louw signed in at the prison under the name Rehana, and told officials she was there to pay Ebrahim's bail.

Louw admitted to this, but told the court she was simply there to ask Ebrahim where her son was.

She says Ebrahim saw her but refused to speak to her.

Naidoo then asked Louw why she had not gone to the prison sooner if she was so concerned about her son.

Louw responded by saying she had been busy with search parties, and questioning Ebrahim had been her last resort.

She told the court she wanted justice for her son.

Naidoo put it to Louw that she knew a lot more than she was telling the court. She replied that she had only told the truth.

Ebrahim was arrested a few days after ten-year-old Miguel was reported missing.

The boy's decomposed body was found in bushes in Phoenix on 3 September 2018, a few metres from Ebrahim's home.

The child had been missing since mid-July.
