Miguel went missing three days after their second argument.

Raylene Louw says in July last year she received a message on Whatsapp from her eldest daughter, Micayla telling her that Miguel had not returned from school.

The mother instructed Micayla to look everywhere while she and Miguel's father, Kirk Louw made their way to the home.

They then went to a local police station and the local grounds in Asherville where she found a boy who recognised her.

Louw asked the boy if he had seen Miguel.

He replied that his father had come to fetch him from school.

She was able to confirm it was Ebrahim who took her child after showing the boy his picture.

Louw says she and Miguel's father later went to Ebrahim's home in Phoenix and that they heard someone whispering inside, when they knocked on the front door.

When no one answered, Kirk kicked the door down.

The trial continues on Wednesday.
