Moerane Commission: 'I was on the hit list' - IFP member

An IFP member has told a commission of inquiry looking into political violence in KZN about how his name was put on a hit list.
Thokozani Dubazane has given testimony at the Moerane Commission of Inquiry - sitting in Pietermaritzburg this week.
Dubazane also says former IFP councillor, Mcebisi Duma was killed in 2011 after being expelled from the party.

He says Duma's name was included on a hit list shortly after his exit from the party.
"He was the second on the list. I was further down the list, maybe around fifth or sixth on it. The reason for wanting those on the list killed, like Duma, was because he was loved by members of the community and it was feared that if he left the party. He would take a lot of the people with him over to the new party.
"It was clear at the time that Duma had so much support and the general consensus from the community is that wherever he went they would follow," he says.
