Sithole's wife, Slindile has told the Moerane Commission of Inquiry that police have repeatedly promised to make arrests but she says nothing's been done.

Describing her late husband as a family man, she says he was always willing to help the community and loved his job. Sithole was shot outside the local police station.

The commission's investigating political violence in KZN.

The DA's Dean Macpherson questioned why no arrests have been made since 2011.

"In all of these killings - there has not been a single arrest. There's been no communication to family members and no action. It seems incredible that people can be killed outside police stations in broad daylight and not a single person sees or hears anything," he says.

Macpherson's also called on the commission to probe the SAPS's role in political violence.

"Whether they have been part of a killing or covered up a killing - I think that question must be answered," he says.
