Moerane Commission: 'Councillors feel unsafe, despite security' - DA
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen, Jarryd Subroyen
The Moerane Commission of Inquiry has heard councillors in Richmond don't feel safe - even with protection.

The DA's constituency head for Umgungundlovu East, Dean Macpherson has given testimony at the commission probing political violence in KZN.
Several officials have been killed in Richmond since March this year - including the town's Municipal Manager and Deputy Mayor.

Macpherson says councillors in the area are living in fear.
"What we've witnessed is a climate of fear, intimidation, assignations and killings which has brought service delivery to a halt," he says.
Macpherson says investigations and interventions over the last couple of years have been slow.
