MK Vets promise to continue protesting

uMkhontho we Sizwe military veterans say they'll continue to protest, if their issues aren't addressed.
MK vets, members of political party The People's Revolutionary Movement and other concerned citizens took to Durban's streets - over undocumented foreign nationals.
They're accusing them of selling drugs and other crimes and claim they're taking jobs away from locals. Marchers shut down some foreign-owned shops and stalls in the CBD. The Association's Dumisani Thango has made this appeal to the government.
"Our country has a serious problem, we don't have leadership. The leadership we have does not have the people's interest at heart. Who allows this to happen because of that South Africa is leaderless," he said.
But the SA Refugee-led Network says yesterday's unruly demonstrations were uncalled-for. It says foreign shop owners, who endured an attack in the Durban CBD yesterday, lost personal belongings and watched helplessly as their stores were looted
"Those who were at the market, they were informed earlier when the crowd came from the top singing, so they were able to close their business and quickly and hide or run away," said the Network's Ganzamunga Zihindula.
"So those who were inside the lower market area and at the entry of Workshop were mostly victimised and their shops looted."

Zihindula says people are now scared.
"There are feelings of anxiety, fear and confusion. People are questioning if we don't do this how will we survive. Remember these are self-employed refugees."
