Misuse of state funds at the expense of taxpayers - IFP
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
The IFP says government officials who loot and mismanage public funds do so at the expense of citizens.
It's in response to tender irregularities uncovered at eThekwini Municipality.
Last week, City Manager Sipho Nzuza said several officials implicated in two forensic reports are facing suspension. He also said there's a possibility criminal charges could be laid.
The reports followed investigations into the irregular awarding of contracts for the city's orange recycling bags and the construction of urine diversion toilets.
The IFP's Mdu Nkosi says the residents continue to suffer at the hands of those who are meant to serve them.
"eThekwini is controlling billions and taxpayers' monies are being misused. People of eThekwini can't get proper service delivery because money is going to some individuals - particularly the officials," Nkosi said.

The DA's Zwakele Mncwango says there must be accountability.
"The report recommends action to be taken against any official and that a criminal case should be opened," Mncwango said.
