Minister looks into integrating teams probing KZN political killings
Updated | By Bernadette Wolhuter
The State Security Minister has raised concerns about the task teams set up to probe politically-motivated murders in KZN.
"We are very concerned about the co-ordination from the various components of the team itself - the SSA, the prosecution, and the Hawks," Minister Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba said.
Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba addressed the media in Durban yesterday after a meeting with an inter-ministerial committee established to probe the latest killings.
Four local politicians were murdered in recent weeks. The committee says it will submit a report to President Cyril Ramaphosa but is keeping mum on its contents for now.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele says the killings can't be linked to the ongoing elective conferences in the province.
"These incidents aren't happening because there's going to be a conference here. Problems in KZN started some time ago. The period that we are working on will be 2011 until now - we don't have conferences every year," he said.
