Mahomed Ebrahim is on trial for murder in the Durban High Court.

He says he was in a relationship with Raylene Louw, but she maintains they were just close friends.

Louw told the court on Tuesday, that she and Ebrahim had two major arguments in the weeks leading up to Miguel’s disappearance.

She said during the first altercation, Ebrahim chased her around her home and attempted to attack her, after it emerged that she had been talking to another man on the road they lived.

"I don't know the date, but we were sitting with some tenants at the back of the yard. The accused got angry, because I was talking to one of the men on the road. He tried to attack me, and chased me around the house.”

"I told him to stay away from me and my kids. I then messaged my daughter and told her to lock the door and not to open it for Ebrahim. When I told him to stay away from me, he said he was going to 'show me'''.

"He then went to one of the bedroom windows and tried to get someone to open for him. I asked a tenant to give me a walk to the front door, because I was terrified that the accused was waiting for me. I messaged my daughter to open the door," she said.

She says Ebrahim apologized to her over WhatsApp that night and she saw him the next day.

During the next argument, three days before the child went missing, Louw says she was having a drink with an ex-boyfriend at their home when Ebrahim barged in and tried to attack her.

"I was in the kitchen with my ex-boyfriend. The accused was sitting in the lounge. He barged into the kitchen and tried to attack me and raised his voice. My ex-boyfriend and I were sitting and having a drink."

"He started chasing me around the kitchen and shouted again, that he was going to 'show me'. My mom intervened and told Ebrahim to get out and he went back and sat in the lounge."

"The accused said I was making him a fool and that he loved me. I told him he was mad, and that we were just friends," she said.

An ongoing claim from Louw is that she and Ebrahim were just friends.

She is back on the witness stand on Wednesday.
