Emotions run high during Miguel Louw case
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A man facing human trafficking charges in connection with the disappearance of a ten-year-old boy has told the Durban Magistrate's Court it is not right that he has to wait until month end to apply for bail.

The 43-year-old suspect was arrested following Miguel Louw's disappearance last month.
The child has still not been found.
Angry Sydenham residents hurled profanities at the accused when he entered the dock earlier. Miguel's family continued to ask him where the 10-year-old is.
Magistrate Ahmed Motala came down hard on State prosecutor, Patrick Magoda when he asked for a seven-day postponement.
Magoda said a new team had come onboard to investigate Miguel's disappearance.

Motala responded by saying the State had ample time to investigate the case and that the accused's rights also need to be taken into account.
The magistrate then looked at the accused and pleaded with him to tell authorities if he knew anything about the little boy's whereabouts.
The accused claims to have been assaulted while in custody. As he exited the dock, Miguel's mother screamed out before spitting on him.
The man will be held at Westville Prison until his next court appearance.
