Mohammed Ebrahim is accused of kidnapping and murdering the boy. He made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court today.

State Prosecutor, Surekha Mariemuthu told the court they were ready to go proceed to trial in the Durban High Court.

Mariemuthu handed up a list containing the list of the 23 witnesses the State plans to call up at trial.

She told the court they will set out to prove that Miguel’s murder was planned and pre-meditated.

The court heard that while the autopsy results into the cause of death are inconclusive - it's believed the boy was strangled.

Ebrahim’s attorney, Chris Gounden told the court that his client would possibly need counsel in the high court - as he didn’t know whether he would continue representing the accused.

The magistrate cautioned Ebrahim about his behaviour in court - to which Ebrahim replied that he wasn't happy.

The trial has been set down to take place between from the 21 October to the 8 November.
