Yesterday, police confirmed that DNA samples were taken from both Miguel's parents, Kirk and Raylene Louw, to see if they match that of the boy.

A post-mortem has also been done.

Louw's aunt, Tashnim Dos Santos says they are desperately awaiting the DNA test results so they can move forward.

"The parents still want to badly know for sure if it's their baby or not. So, they have a lot of hope and they believe their baby is still coming home," she said.

She says the family has not been allowed to see the body as yet.

"We were promised on the day of the [incident] that we are going to go view the body but nothing has come yet. We are being told that we can't go near there until they tell us so. So, they are still busy. We just pray that someone high [ranking] can make this a priority and give us feedback. We have been asking God to intervene and to help us during this journey," Dos Santos said.

Miguel Louw's family will be holding a candlelight vigil outside their Sydenham home this evening.
