Miguel's loved ones raced to the scene after news broke yesterday afternoon.

A policeman and his dog as well as a reaction officer made the grisly discovery in a bush on the side of the road.

The child was in school uniform. Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says they can't confirm that the body is that of the missing child. The Louw family will be taken to see the body today.

Police say the suspect they have in custody, who's linked to the disappearance of little Miguel, lives close to where the body of a child was found in Phoenix yesterday.

"The suspect is said to be living along this road - Longbury Drive," The police's Thembeka Mbhele said.

The suspect remains behind bars. He was granted bail last week but has been unable to meet his bail requirements.

The police's Thembeka Mbhele says the Louw family will be taken later to view the body.

Newswatch spoke to the KZN VIP Protection Services officer who was among the officials chasing suspected robbers in the area when they were led to the body by police dogs.

"I saw the body and [initially] thought it was a dog. I got out of the bush and cordoned off the scene," the officer said.

Forensic investigations into the case continue.
